  • Renowned composer Samuel Adler recently completed a new composition for Duo Fresco titled Five Choral Scherzi for Mixed Chorus, Viola & Guitar! In this work (approximately 15-17 minutes long), Maestro Adler sets poetry by John Updike, Anonymous, Thomas Wood, Dorothy Parker and Hilaire Ballac.

  • Duo Fresco to premiere a new work written for them by composer Raymond Wojick titled Through the Valley of the Shadow on the Ars Vitalis: the New Jersey New Music Form, Wed 4/11 discussion 7:15, concert 8 Wilkins Theatre for the Arts, Kean University, admission is free!

 

  • Duo Fresco opens a new concert series in Maurice River, New Jersey run by Paul Somers! On Saturday, February 17, 2007, Duo Fresco was featured on this new series which also marked the premiere of Paul Mack Somers' charming and characterful new work (written for Duo Fresco),Eight Epigrams for Vola & Guitar.

 

  • Duo Fresco gave a master class with composer Samuel Adler and then performed a recital at The College of New Jersey on February 7, 2007. Mr. Adler and the Duo were featured visiting artists. Stay tuned for press coverage of this event!

 

  • Duo Fresco and renowned flautist Bart Feller (principal flute of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and the New York City Opera) performed a program of works by Matiegka, Diabelli & Dodgson on February 4, 2007 on the Duo's concert series in Liberty Corner, New Jersey, Music at the Corner.

 

  • Duo Fresco was featured in recital by the Denver Classical Guitar Society on February 11, 2007.

  • Duo Fresco was a featured ensemble at the ASTA Chamber Music Institute 2007

  • Duo Fresco was again featured in recital on the Access to Art Sam Maitin Summer Chamber Music Festival 2007 along with such premiere ensembes as the Borromeo Quartet and the Mondrian Ensemble. The Duo on this occasion premeired its stunning new transcription for viola & guitar of Ralph Vaughn-Williams' Six Studies in English Folksong and a 'new discovery' of a Sonata composed by FW Rust (1739-1796).

  • Duo Fresco will perform the world premire of John Oliver's A Dream of Africa on the Thule Sizwe concert of South African music at William Patterson University, Wayne, NJ on November 10, 2007.

  • The world premiere performance and recording of Samuel Adler's Five Choral Scherzi is scheduled for October 2008 at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. More information to come!
